In
1958 the present structure was built and dedicated on September 14,
1958. Over the long history of South Texarkana, there have been 25
pastors. South
Texarkana Baptist Church began as a "mission of faith" in 1914,
at the home of M.G. Kidd, on South Spruce
Street, Texarkana Texas, when twelve
devoted and loving Christians saw a need and opportunity for a new
Baptist church in South Texarkana. The new
church met in temporary facilities until God provided the present
location on Ida and South Stateline in 1943,
under the leadership of Pastor Dillard Miller,
the frame building was moved to Ida and South State line, Texarkana,
Arkansas.
